A friend of mine wanted this portrait of an old man, not knowing what else to have on the painting. While researching her brief, this version came up. I wanted the old manhood and the loneliness to be apparent. Once the painting started taking shape the idea came to me to add a companion, a contrasting figure, on his arm . . . a little kitten.
A lady wanted this reproduction of the “Praying Hands” for a friend's birthday, which was just around the corner. When I showed her my version of it, she decided to keep it for herself. This painting is made with only three colours.
