Hats of the 1930s Series – 2
Oil on canvas
20cm x 50cm
One of my aunts was a “Modeliste”, which is French for hat maker. Imagine the ecstatic feeling of a little girl entering her aunts home full of feathers, ribbons, laces and hats by the hundreds! The smell, the touch, the adventure in the middle of it all while she sat behind her old Singer machine putting the finishing touches on some hats for her clients.
